About this package

Typhoid, dengue and malaria share early symptoms, and a fever of several days could be any of them. This panel tests for all three, using the Widal test and Typhi Dot for typhoid. The liver function test follows the involvement that is common in typhoid and other infections, the urine routine checks for a urinary source, and ESR, CRP and the blood count show the strength of the inflammatory response. It is a sound choice for a fever of five days or more that has not responded to simple treatment, or for someone who is clearly unwell.

A complete typhoid work-up with dengue, malaria, liver, urine, ESR, CRP and blood count to separate look-alike fevers.

What does this package cover?

The 9 tests are grouped into 5 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 3 tests

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

  • CRP (C-Reactive Protein)

The level of C-reactive protein circulating in the blood, which rises within hours of an inflammatory trigger.

  • ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)

The rate at which red blood cells settle in a vertical tube over 60 minutes.

Liver 1 test

Liver enzymes, bilirubin and proteins that show inflammation, fatty liver or reduced liver function.

  • Liver Function Test (LFT)

SGPT/ALT, SGOT/AST, ALP, GGT, total/direct/indirect bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, and the A/G ratio.

Infections 3 tests

Screens for common infections such as hepatitis, HIV, syphilis, dengue, malaria and typhoid.

  • Dengue NS1 Antigen

Dengue NS1 Antigen is a blood test. Early dengue detection - positive from day 1 of fever.

  • Malaria Antigen Test

Malaria Antigen Test is a blood test. Rapid detection of malaria parasite antigens.

  • Widal Test (Typhoid)

Widal Test (Typhoid) is a blood test. Screens for typhoid fever antibodies.

Urine 1 test

Routine urine analysis for infection, sugar, protein and kidney clues.

  • Urine Routine & Microscopic Examination

Physical characteristics (colour, clarity), chemical markers (protein, glucose, ketones, blood, pH), and microscopic examination for cells, crystals, casts and bacteria in a urine sample.

Other tests 1 test

Additional tests included in this package.

  • Typhi Dot IgG & IgM

Typhi Dot IgG & IgM is a blood test. Typhi Dot IgG & IgM looks for evidence of infection - antigen, antibody or genetic material - to help confirm the cause of symptoms and guide treatment.

9 tests included (67 parameters)

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with prolonged fever and abdominal symptoms, those who feel very weak, and anyone whose first panel did not give an answer.

How often should you get it done?

Only during illness. A repeat makes sense only if you develop new symptoms or your doctor says so.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC), CRP (C-Reactive Protein) and ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
  • Liver - Liver Function Test (LFT)
  • Infections - Dengue NS1 Antigen, Malaria Antigen Test and Widal Test (Typhoid)
  • Urine - Urine Routine & Microscopic Examination
  • Other tests - Typhi Dot IgG & IgM

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 8 to 10 hours before the sample - plain water is allowed. An early-morning slot makes this easier.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • For the urine test, a first-morning, mid-stream sample in the sterile container we provide is best.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

Why does typhoid affect the liver?

The bacteria spread through the bloodstream and can inflame the liver, which raises liver enzymes. The rise helps your doctor judge how far the illness has spread.

How should I prepare?

Fast for eight to ten hours if you can manage, with water allowed, but do not delay testing when you are unwell.

Can antibiotics taken earlier affect results?

Antibodies may be delayed and cultures may be negative after antibiotics. Tell your doctor which medicines you have taken and when.
