The fullest hair panel adds biotin, the vitamin most often advertised for hair, and HbA1c, since high sugar can affect hair and skin. It also covers ferritin, folic acid, B12, zinc, vitamin D, prolactin and the thyroid profile. True biotin deficiency is uncommon, and extra biotin is not helpful if levels are normal. High-dose biotin supplements can also distort some thyroid and hormone results, so tell your doctor if you take them.

Blood count & inflammation 1 test
Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.
RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).
Iron & anaemia 1 test
Iron stores and red-cell production - the commonest causes of anaemia and tiredness.
Ferritin is a blood test. Ferritin checks a vitamin or nutrient level so any deficiency can be identified and treated by your doctor.
Diabetes & blood sugar 1 test
Current and 3-month average blood sugar, plus insulin markers for diabetes and insulin resistance.
The percentage of haemoglobin in red blood cells that has glucose attached to it (glycated) - since red cells live about 120 days, this reflects average blood sugar over that period.
Thyroid 1 test
Thyroid hormones and antibodies - an under- or over-active thyroid affects weight, energy, mood and heart rate.
Total/Free T3 (triiodothyronine), Total/Free T4 (thyroxine), and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone, produced by the pituitary gland to regulate the thyroid).

Vitamin D, B12, folate and the minerals and hormones that keep bones and nerves healthy.
